How to Open a Locked Wood Window
- 1). Bend one of the paper clips into a tension wrench by unbending one end of it so that it forms an "L" shape.
- 2). Unbend the second paper clip completely, so that it is fully straightened. This is your pick.
- 3). Push the tension wrench into the bottom of the keyhole on the lock.
- 4). Slide the pick into the top, or shear line, of the keyhole. If done correctly, you will feel the pins inside the lock push up.
- 5). Apply tension to the tension wrench in the direction you turn the key to open the lock, either clockwise or counterclockwise. At the same time, quickly pull the pick back out so that it rakes over the pins. Adjust the tension wrench's position slightly for each attempt. When the tension is applied properly, the lock releases.
