How to Remove Magic Marker From Wood Furniture

    • 1). Dust off the wood furniture to remove loose dirt and debris. Spread a light coating of plain white toothpaste onto the spot using your finger. Don't use toothpaste with bleach, peroxide, abrasives or other additives or you risk damaging the wood.

    • 2). Let the toothpaste sit on the magic marker spot for about two minutes. While you're waiting, wet a washcloth with warm, soapy water. Wring out the washcloth so it's just damp and not soaking wet.

    • 3). Rub the spot with the damp dishcloth to remove the magic marker stain. Wipe the rag over the wood in the direction of the wood's grain, applying some pressure to effectively get rid of the marker. Add more toothpaste and continue scrubbing until the spot is gone.

    • 4). Moisten a rag with rubbing alcohol if the magic marker stain is persistent. Rub the rag gently over the wood furniture to remove the marker stain.
