RN As a Second Career
- Aspiring registered nurses, or RNs, must obtain an associate degree in nursing (two-year program) or a bachelor of science degree in nursing (four-year program). They also must pass the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
- An individual with a degree in a non-nursing field can use some course credits from that degree to shorten the time it takes to earn a nursing degree. Second Degree BSN and Accelerated BSN programs take previous degrees into account.
