As we get a little older we should start to take care of ourselves a little more. But we sometimes continue to neglect things and wonder why we start to feel run down. As ladies approach middle age, it is imperative to pamper yourselves on a regular basis. We're not talking about a spa bath session every, but you can make a little bit of self care go along way. Please read this guide if you are interested in slowing down a little bit.

Eat Well

It should go without saying that we need to eat carefully, but how often do we heed this advice? You can keep nasty illnesses and diseases at bay by following some simple guidelines. Do not skip meals and try to eat more fresh vegetables with each meal. Eat salads instead of deep fried foods and avoid eating too much sugar. If you eat healthily you will able to sleep better and have much more energy as a result of this.

Rest and Sleep

You really need to be getting about eight hours of sleep every night. Many of us are lucky to get half of this because we are keeping too busy in the evening. You should start to wind down at about eight in the evening and reduce your exertions accordingly. If you don't get enough sleep you can become irritable and upset those around you. It can also have an adverse effect on your nervous and cardiovascular systems.

Exercise

It is vital to exercise if you wish to keep your body and mind healthy, but we rarely do this enough. Pick an exercise type that you enjoy and try to fit your routine around this, instead of the reverse. You can try yoga or aerobics and alternate between the two every other day. When you are exercising, your brain releases chemicals called endorphins. These will pick you up and you will feel much happier in a natural way. By exercising correctly you will find it easier to relax and get those eight hours sleep that you crave.
Beauty Routine

Put some time aside each day for your beauty requirements. You need to feel good about your outside as well as your inside. Book a weekly appointment at the salon in order to boost your self confidence factor. It can also relieve stress and give your face and body a radiant glow for others to admire.

Enjoy Yourself

Routines are important but you need to remember you are a woman and an individual. Your husband and children will not suffer too much if you allow yourself the odd afternoon or evening out with your friends. Set them some tasks to perform and let then be useful for once! You can enjoy your free time and catch up with your old friends. You can even spend the time alone if you feel like some down time. You will be surprised at how this will recharge those batteries you use so heavily.
