How to Make Halloween Feelie Boxes
- 1). Gather four, similar-sized cardboard shoe boxes that have lids. Place them on old boards or bricks in the grass and spray paint them black on the outside, including the outsides of the lids. Allow them to dry thoroughly.
- 2). Use the box cutter to cut a hole just large enough to get your hand through in the center of the lids of all four boxes. Use scissors to cut up part of one of the black garbage bags into four 6-by-6 inch squares. Using duct tape, affix a square onto the underside of the lid over the hole. Use the box cutter to cut an "X" in the square.
- 3). Use some of the black garbage bag material and the duct tape to line the inside of each of the boxes. Place a small pile of the overcooked spaghetti into the first box. Place 12 peeled grapes into the second box. Pour a quarter cup of honey into the third box. In a bowl, break up 8 soda crackers and add 2 to 3 tbsp. of warm water. Stir the mixture, which should resemble soft oatmeal. Place the mixture into the fourth box.
- 4). Place the lids on all of the boxes.
- 5). Use the permanent marker and index cards to make labels for the fronts of all the boxes. The first box, for example, can be labeled "Gremlins' Intestines." The second box might be labeled "Horned Toad Eyeballs" while the third box could be labeled "Dracula's Saliva." The fourth box may be labeled "Pureed Newt." Use the duct tape to affix the labels to the boxes. Encourage visitors to put their hands into the boxes to feel the items.
