    • 1). Go to the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court Office. Locations include the Clearwater Courthouse at 315 Court Street in Clearwater, room 150, or the St. Petersburg branch office at 545 First Avenue North. You can also contact the clerk's office via email at recording@co.pinellas.fl.us. or phone 727-464-7000. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    • 2). Deliver documents. Bring the original of your deed of trust, along with proper identification. E-Recording services are available through approved eRecord vendors, Simplifile, ACS Electronic Recordation Exchange or Ingeo (see Resources). These services allow documents to be submitted electronically and recorded.

    • 3). Pay recording fees. You will be required to pay documentary stamps and intangible tax, along with a fee for each page recorded. The stamps and tax will be determined by the purchase price for the property. A current fee schedule is available on the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court website.

    • 4). Retain a copy. Have an additional copy made of the deed of trust for your records. You can have the copy certified after it has been recorded, but a small fee will incur.
