The Linden Method: The Story of Charles Linden and The Linden Method
What if I were to tell you anxiety disorders aren't actually a mental illness nor a physical one! Then what if I were to tell you that anxiety and panic are caused by "behavioral conditions" which are fueled by our actions!
I know this may be hard to swallow for anyone who suffers from severe anxiety or panic related disorders but it's this basis that allowed Charles Linden to eliminate crippling anxiety from his life.
You see, anxiety disorders are generally linked to chemical imbalances in the brain which are generally treated with medications. However Charles had undergone intense recovery programs and treatments for anxiety with none effectively eliminating anxiety from his life.
After years of unsuccessful treatments and therapies Charles decided that he'd had enough and that it was time to get to grips with his severe anxiety related disorders. Charles then spent the following years researching, documenting and interviewing specialists and real life people who'd successfully overcome their anxiety disorders.
What did Charles find?
Charles concluded that the main culprit for anxiety and panic disorders was linked to a gland in the brain referred to as the "Amygdala", it had long been known that the Amygdala was responsible for handling fear and therefore had a part in the development or trigger for anxiety but Charles claimed this was the real culprit and key to a successful long-term recovery.
Although the Amygdala is a crucial part of the human brain as it triggers the fight or flight response in dangerous situations it can also become to sensitive, or "it gets stuck in the on position" says Charles. The problem here is that the brain is continually triggering anxiety even when there is no real threat or danger present.
Over-time this repeated triggering of anxiety becomes a new learned behavior, it causes the Amygdala gland to become much more sensitive and way over-active. According to Charles this is the roots of the anxiety and working out how to restore this gland to good standing id the real key to a successful long-term recovery.
Traditional treatments
Although traditional treatments such as CBT and other therapies have been effective for some patients the results are far and few between. Medication is also a money spinner lining the pockets of a global powerhouse known as the pharmaceutical industry! I'm not saying that medicinal treatment can't improve a peson's quality of life short-term but I'm with Charles in saying that long-term recovery means dealing with the disorder at its roots and not just masking it over.
I also recently read a post by Charles in which he discussed traditional "talk therapy" treatment which is designed to help get to the roots of the anxiety disorder. In case you don't know talk therapy usually involves examining the causes/ triggers for your anxiety with a specialist before developing a series of processes and actions to help get these issues resolved.
Charles's take on "Talk Therapy"
Charles states that talk therapy is not a cure for anxiety!
"The cause of anxiety disorders and panic attacks is not the 'life event' that created the stressful environment," Charles adds. "This is wrong. The actual cause is the way the Amygdala responded to that event and continues to produce anxiety and panic long after the event."
The real problem is that anxiety or panic are still anticipated after the original stress-inducing event took place. According to Charles this is why using medicinal treatments are non an effective form of treatment as the cause is not an underlying imbalance of chemicals in the brain.
Wrapping it up
There's much more to Charles Linden story than I could ever cover in a single post. This isn't just some tell tale story that has been blown up! The Linden method has single handedly helped over 200,000 anxiety sufferers eliminate their disorders and get their life's back on track.
The Linden Method is recognized by the mental health industry and even recommended by doctors and pyschiatrists to their patients in certain cases. It doesn't wotk for everyone but boasts a success rate of over 90%.
