    • 1). Remove as much of the excess sauce as you can with a dull knife. Scrape lightly to avoid grinding the sauce deeper into the garment's fibers.

    • 2). Rinse the back ("wrong") side of the stained garment under cold water. This will force some of the sauce out of the shirt. Do not run water over the front ("right"); doing so will force the stain deeper into the fabric.

    • 3). Apply liquid laundry detergent lightly to the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes, without rubbing it in.

    • 4). Rinse the spot and then apply a commercial stain remover, if still visible. Follow the manufacturer's directions on the remover,

    • 5). Place the stain-treated garment in the washer as you normally would. Do not dry the item until you verify that the stain has been completely removed. Unfortunately, if the stain persists, the dryer's heat will set it permanently. If this is the case. repeat Steps 3 & 4, then wash the item again.
