Bipolar Mania Symptoms
- Hyperactivity means increased mental and physical activity. This usually means the person going through a mania episode will have more energy and schedule more work or projects than she can handle.
- Heightened mood is when the person going through a mania episode feels on top of the world. He feels that no one can hurt him and he can do anything without suffering the consequences.
- A manic episode may put the bipolar sufferer into a sudden rage. When this happens, he will feel the need to go after anyone. If this happens, he may become very dangerous.
- When a person suffering from bipolar disorder goes through a manic episode, she will want sex more. She will feel the need to engage in out-of-control sexual behavior.
- Delusions can play a part in a mania episode of bipolar disorder patients. They will feel like they are best friends with celebrities and have a special connection with God and political leaders.
- A bipolar patient can feel less need to sleep when going through a manic episode. She will want to stay awake for days at a time and not feel tired. This can go on for several days when a person is experiencing a manic episode.
