Visitors to Australia, who would like to experience one of their most elegant resorts, should head for Hayman Island the most northern of the Whitsunday Islands Group.
A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, the Resort is located on the southern shores of the island, amidst lush tropical gardens and is famous for its elegance, service and superior location.
To get to Hayman Island, one flies first to Hamilton Island, as this is the only island in the Whitsunday Islands with an airport.
Guests are met, by members of the staff of the Resort, and are taken either by private launch, seaplane or helicopter to Hayman Island, then by a small buggy train to their accommodations.
The island's only Resort is, on the southern shores, lapped by the warm gentle waters of the Coral sea and great ocean views, consists buildings no higher than four stories, with a variety of luxury accommodations for families to vacation together.
There are beautifully appointed rooms and suites in the pool and lagoon areas, all with balconies or terraces where couples and families can stay.
The Penthouses overlook the lagoon, Hayman beach and Coral sea, with 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites.
Their decor reflect different styles and furnishings from different countries, of which they are named and whose themes are reflected throughout.
In the 1 bedroom Penthouses there are Greek, Moroccon, Italian and Oriental materials and furnishings from the individual country.
This trend continues in the 2 bedroom English Penthouse and the 3 bedroom French Penthouse, which has a pair of Louis XVI lamps.
All the penthouses offer butler and concierge service.
To assure that guests will lack for nothing, there are about five different restaurants opened to serve, either a bountiful buffet breakfasts, delicious lunch or elegant evening dinners.
Each week the Master Chef has a behind-the-scenes dining option, where guests are treated in the main kitchen to a 6-course dinner with matching wines.
Guests also have the opportunity, once a month, to participate in a cooking class with one of Hayman's Master Chefs.
In the Club Lounge, not only is it the perfect place for a drink with friends, but guests can also find an array of books, boardgames and a billiard table.
Among the pools there is a very unusual one, feature at the resort, it is the famous Hayman salt-water pool, which is seven times Olympic size and has in its center another pool that contains heated fresh water.
The 34 acres of lush tropical gardens are studded with water fountains and pathways leading to bush walks where you can see some of the native animals and wide variety of birds, or stroll to the beaches to indulge in the variety of activities; hire a dingy to explore alone, snorkeling or dive to the amazing underwater world, where lots of marine life and coral formations can be seen or ride the wind and ocean surface on a sailboard.
Catamarans, paddle skiing and windsurfing are complimentary, but, for a small charge guests can, water skiing, go wake boarding, kayaking or tube ride.
Back on land are many other options open to the active guest, tennis, golf putting, squash courts, badminton and billiards all compliments of the Resort along with a extensively equipped gymnasium.
With so much to see and do, all on a such a beautiful island, it is no wonder that Hayman beckons to vacationers to come visit, relax and be pampered.
