How to Paint With Roll on Deodorant Bottles
- 1). Pop the roller out of the deodorant container with the blunt knife. Work carefully, making sure that you do not dent the roller ball. Some roll-on containers have a screw-off top, making this step easier. Wash well with all-purpose cleaner. Rinse well and dry.
- 2). Fill the container with paint. Tempera paint is non-toxic and inexpensive, making it ideal for projects for young children.
- 3). Test the paint pen on a bit of paper. Thin the paint with water if necessary.
Test to see which angle works best with the paint pen. The pen may work better on an easel. Try several types of paper to see which papers work best with the paint pen. When you are satisfied, give the pen to the child. - 4). Set up a work area for the child. Make sure the child is wearing appropriate clothing, that the area is free of clutter, and there is enough room to get a little messy with the paint. The roll-on paint pen may splatter, and the paint does have a tendency to run a bit, especially if you use tempera paint.
