You're looking on how to be the life of the party but don't know where to start? Below are 8 useful tips that will have you being the life of the party the minute you step in to the time you leave.

1. Have a grand entrance

How to be the life of the party starts here. You must have a unique entrance. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or over the top. In fact, I would avoid it so people don't think you're a tool. You have to enter with a smile, positive attitude, confident body language, and strong eye contact with everyone that looks at you. First impressions are everything. If your a guy and your host (if a guy) answers the door, enter with a big smile and shake his hand and put your other hand on his upper arm (bicep area). This shows dominance. Smile and talk to him while looking around the room and giving everyone a slight nod. If you're a girl, not matter if the host is a guy or girl, you should hug. Girls hug girls all the time and you only look better if you're a girl and you hug the host. It gets you on their good side and makes you look friendly. You should also smile and wave high to everyone looking at you. Show you're not a threat

2. Look better, smell better, be better

This goes with number one mostly but it's important throughout the party. You want to look good especially when you first walk into the party. Again, first impressions are everything. You want people to look at you and respect your style choices and the way you carry yourself. Smelling good is also important. A smell is the most memorable sense we have. Not only that, if someone ever smells that sense again, they will immediately tie the smell with you. You want to stay memorable by being good at things too. If everyone is dancing, be a great dancer. These three things will certainly make you life of the party.

3. Introduce people

This is a powerful effect that works the subconscious mind. It shows dominance and people don't even realize it. By you being at a party and introducing people, it makes you come off as a leader. It shows you're extremely friendly and fun. It shows confidence. Not only that, you may be helping people out who are afraid to branch out and meet people. By helping them out, you will stick out in their mind and give them a better experience at the party. If that doesn't make you the life of the party in someone's mind, I don't know what else will.

4. Talk to everyone

I know this is common sense but it needs to be said. A lot of people just talk to the popular crowd or the hot guy/girl. Don't be that person. You will only look good to a small percentage of the crowd. Instead, make your way around to everyone and say hi. You don't have to stay with that person, just make their and your presence known.

5. Don't drink or keep it to a minimal

If you really want to stick out, don't drink. I am sure people will look at you and question why you aren't drinking. Don't give them a difficult answer. Instead, give them a small answer that says something great about you. I  would say something along the lines as "I am not drinking because I have an early meeting tomorrow morning" or "I am on a fitness program and my personal trainer would kill me if I showed up tomorrow morning hungover." Both make you sound important and show you are about improving your lifestyle. That is very important. I rather take control of the situation and not drink.

6. Dance

You may hate to hear this if you can't dance but you need to dance. Body language is very important since only four percent of communication is verbal. By dancing you show you are outgoing, fun, confident in yourself, and just looking for a good time. If you're good, a lot of people will be amazed at your moves and you will stick out in their mind. You want to stick out of the crowd and I would bet that half the crowd won't be dancing.

7. Tell a Great Story

Everyone likes a good story. It has been around as long as humans existence. To tell a good story, you have to stay on point. A lot of people branch off on useless information that loses readers. It also needs to pull emotion out of people. Tell it slowly. Tell it with a tone. Use your hands when you talk. People will see how animated you are and hopefully remember the story and tie it to you.

8. Have an Exit Plan

This is your last impression. You can't leave without people knowing. I am not saying you have to yell to the party you're leaving but people should know you're leaving. Personally, I would mention my departure when the spotlight is on me. If I told an amazing story and a good group was listening, I would say I am leaving right after I finish the story.

I would also tell everyone that you met you're heading out and it was nice meeting them. Don't let the focus be on your departure. That makes you look stupid. Just mention to the people you met that you're leaving and that you were glad to meet them. By mentioning them, they will be more interested in you leaving and comply. Make it personal. If you guys had an inside joke, mention that. If you two have a similar interest that will work. If she was nervous about her exam tomorrow, wish her luck. The ideas are endless.
