How to Send MoneyGrams to JPay
- 1). Visit the list of JPay MoneyGram receive codes at the JPay website. Write down the 4-digit code for the prison facility to which you need to send a MoneyGram.
- 2). Take your cash, the receive code, the inmate's last name and the specific DOC or Department of Corrections number assigned to your inmate to your local MoneyGram location.
- 3). Fill out a MoneyGram Express Payment Blue Form. In the space for
Receive Code," place the number associated with the facility. - 4). Write the Department of Corrections number plus the inmate's last name with no spaces in between in the "Account Number" space.
- 5). Write a short personal message in the "messages" portion of the form.
- 6). Give the MoneyGram attendant the form, your cash and the fee, which is about $9 as of May 2011. MoneyGram will process your transaction through JPay. The money should appear in the prisoner's JPay account within 24 business hours.
