• If your relationship is far enough along, plan a romantic getaway weekend. Check out some bed and breakfast inns located within a two- or three-hour driving distance. Select a locale that has activities she would enjoy based on her interests; for example, hiking, white-water rafting, antique shopping or art exhibitions. Write the details in her birthday card and present it to her along with a bottle of champagne (to take along on the trip). Once you both select an appropriate date for your weekend escape, make sure you take care of booking and paying for the room.
