Religious fanatics have proclaimed mankind as the absolute and ultimate creation of god in their various religions, even created it god's own image.
Yes, convenient indeed, declare yourself over and above all other life forms and sit back and feel special even though in reality our entire solar system is little more than a speck of sand on an endless beach.
Of course, mankind and his religions reject this notion completely, just like so many religious fanatics believe there is no life anywhere but Earth and that includes Mars.
Even though, there is proof that we have traded material with Mars through asteroids.
We share debris from space and from each other, so how in the World could there not be life on Mars.
We have found all sorts of life on Earth that does not need oxygen to live and plenty that can live below sub zero temperatures and many that live well above boiling points.
This is the sort of life forms that we might find on Mars.
Is the world ready for it? Can the religious fanatics deal with the reality of things in the real world? Will they incorporate further chapters of Science into their religious scriptures or will humankind dump world religions and look forward to the future? There is ice on the poles of Mars and this is where the Phoenix Lander will touch down and it is fully equipped to grab samples of sentiment and investigate for life and the many believe that is exactly what it will find.
This will settle this religious based argument once and for all.
