The Temple Towers Over the Surrounding Area
The body of the temple is 120 feet high. After designing this height, the architects discovered that local building ordinances allowed for only 120 feet.
The spires reach a maximum of 288 feet. All lighting that illuminates the temple at night is pointed upwards, suggesting eternity and infinity.
A special yearly treat for visitors is the Christmas lights installed throughout the grounds, along with special Christmas exhibits.
Each year the lights debut at a special lighting ceremony, where a visiting dignitary gets to activate the switch.
