When hosting a sports birthday party or sporting event party, be sure to pick the perfect invitations. Invitations set the mood of the party and get party guests intrigued about coming to the party. Create invitations that keep guests wondering what is in store at the party itself. Mail the invitations about three weeks before the party to give guests a heads up. - Write your invitation message on a sports ball. If you are having a football party, purchase small plastic footballs and write your invite details on the ball. Put the balls in small boxes and mail to your recipients. If the party contains more than one sport, use other balls such as small plastic soccer balls, baseballs and basketballs.
Another option to sport balls invitations is to buy inflatable balls. Blow the balls up and write the party details on each ball. Deflate the balls and flatten them out. Place the balls in separate envelopes and mail to party guests. Your guests have to blow up the ball to read the invitation. - Use sport-shaped cutouts to write your invite details on and mail them out. If you are doing a soccer-themed party, cut out paper invites in the shape of soccer balls. Use a pencil to lightly shade the soccer ball to show details of the ball and write in heavy marker the invitation details on the soccer ball.
You could also use the shape of a trophy, such as a goblet on yellow cardstock paper to create the invitations. - Print out personalized tickets like sporting event tickets to invite guests to the party. Write "Admit One" and give the date, time and stadium (address). Take a sewing machine with no thread or a utility knife and create a perforated edge along the end of the ticket. Write "Void if Detached" on the ticket by the perforated edge. Ticket envelopes are available at most retail stores or use plain envelopes to mail the tickets.
- Create an invitation that looks like a real magazine cover. For a baseball party, use print/photo software to change the faces on a team of baseball players. Put the guest of honor's face on the main person in the picture. Then put all other party guest's faces on the other players in the picture. Write the invitation details on the cover.
