  The greatest advantage of storage sheds is adaptability. Depending on the size, they can be used as a garage, garden shed, workshop, equipment storage, home office, hobby room or even a spare bedroom. No matter what material they are made of, they can be fully insulated, modified to incorporate windows, skylights and regular doors, placed on movable or permanent foundations or they can stand alone or have access from another structure. There are styles and colors to match any home design.
  
  

Metal

• Metal sheds are either galvanized aluminum or steel and painted with a polyester enamel finish, requiring very little maintenance. As a rule, metal sheds are the least expensive style of shed to choose from. They are easy to assemble and are available in various styles, sizes and colors. Metal sheds should be placed on a level surface such as cement or wood foundation. Specially designed foundation kits are also available to assemble.
  
  

Vinyl

• Vinyl sheds are built with double wall PVC vinyl panels that are durable enough to resist dents, rust, rot and never need painting. They are impact-resistant and deflect heat to keep the shed cool. Vinyl sheds have foundations kits available that should be set up on a level surface before shed is assembled and attached to it. A cement or wood foundation can also be used.
  
  

Fiberglass

• Fiberglass sheds are produced to last longer than wood, steel, aluminum or vinyl sheds, placing them on the upper end of the pricing scale. Fiberglass sheds are designed to protect from exposure to extreme temperatures, UV rays, air, dust, salt, moisture, chemicals and insects, therefore making them ideal for fire fighting equipment, fire suits, foul weather gear, bunker gear, safety equipment and hurricane supplies to name a few. They are insulated to protect against heat and cold and are completely maintenance-free.
