Lake Tahoe - A Magnificent Vacation Travel Spot
Picking out the next destination you would like to go for your household holiday getaway doesn't have to be as difficult as some folks make it. Yes, it's true that there are a nearly unlimited number of totally magnificent vacation destinations to choose from and it can be easy to get bogged down, but hopefully today I can persuade you to take a look at fabulous Lake Tahoe.
Now typically I don't like to propose the same old humdrum family vacation places that almost everyone has gone to, and you may claim that Lake Tahoe fits into this grouping; but you'd be pleasantly surprised. Before we get into that though, let's talk a little bit about what Lake Tahoe is all about in case you've rarely heard about it.
So what is it? Well, mainly it's a breathtakingly lovely Lake that's enclosed by the high Sierra Mountains. It is positioned in the northern part of California, sort of on the Nevada border making many people today think that it is in fact located in Nevada.
The best time of the year to head to Lake Tahoe will depend on exactly what you're going there to do. Through the months of January February and March you can expect to find amazing skiing, in fact I'd even categorize it as world-class skiing. June through September, on the other hand, have some of the greatest water sports in the world and world-class hiking as well.
So it really just is dependent on what you're on the lookout for, Winter Wonderland or Summer fun in the sun. Whichever you choose, Lake Tahoe will not disappoint you.
While you're there you can expect to discover an Alpine resort region that is home to several different activities including skiing, hiking, sailing on the lake itself, as well as several casinos where you can try your fortune and maybe strike it rich and win big!
Lake Tahoe is without a doubt one of the United States most lovely locations. It has almost 300 days of sunlight every single year which means you almost certainly won't get rained out like some other holiday locations!
If you're looking for skiing specifically then you'll tend to focus on the north and south of the lake because that's were the majority of of the best resorts are positioned. The north side has some of the swankier areas but the south side is the most brimming area and includes things like the casinos etc.
There's not much to do on the East side because it's mainly undeveloped but the West side is marked with smaller hotels and more residential areas.
There really is something for everybody at Lake Tahoe. Whether you feel like toughing it with hiking, camping, skiing, or even snowmobiling; or you're more interested in gourmet dining and being pampered in a world-class resort... you clearly won't be disappointed with this impressive getaway destination.
