How to Word Adult Birthday Invitations
- 1). Give the invitation a personal touch by addressing the invitations to each guest. Be specific about who is invited. You might invite the addressee only, the addressee and a guest or the addressee and spouse.
- 2). Write the name of the birthday person and include the age. Birthday Invites recommends that you ask the party recipient for permission to put the age on the invitation first.
- 3). Add personal information about the party recipient. According to Birthday Invites, you should ask friends and family about the person and add those comments to the invitation after a phrase like "I remember when..." This will make your birthday invitation a memento for your guests as well.
- 4). Write instructions to the attendees. Let them know if it is a costume party, pool party, surprise party or formal gathering. Classy Announcements suggests writing something along the lines of, "We're having a party, she/he hasn't a clue. So keep it a secret, we're counting on you!" for a surprise party.
- 5). Write the time, date and location of the party on the invitation. Include directions if the location is difficult to find.
- 6). Add an RSVP date and phone number.
