    • 2). Notice if you are losing more hair than usual. Hairbrushes, combs and shower drains are the best places to look. Keep in mind that everybody loses a reasonable amount of hair every time that they take a shower or brush their hair. If the amount of hair that is lost seems extreme, you should begin to worry.

    • 3). Look in the mirror. Notice if there are any bald patches. Generally, these bald spots can be found at the back of the head, but they may be anywhere. You will also want to notice whether you have a receding hairline.

    • 4). Pay attention to any changes in your hair texture. When someone experiences baldness, he generally begins to notice that his hair feels a lot more brittle and thinner. Also be sure to notice if the hair has a lot more breakage than usual. If you do not use hot styling tools on a regular basis, this can mean that you are experiencing baldness.
