Inner Ear Tinnitus
The inner ear is one of the most sensitive and isolated parts of the body.
This is your whole body's means to protect it against toxins.
However, the special physical, anatomical and chemical isolation of this body part has led reduced chances of easier treatment of disorders in the inner ear.
But through tinnitus, that sound you hear inside your ears or head, has made inner ear disorders to be determined.
Tinnitus actually arises in the inner ear as a symptom of diseases.
Over a few months, tinnitus persists when the disease heightens or aggravates.
Some of the diseases are Meniere's, Bechet's or autoimmune inner disease (AIED).
These are commonly consisting of syndromes of progressive hearing loss and/or dizziness.

There are no specific medications or treatments to completely eradicate the occurrence of tinnitus, specifically in the inner ear.
However, there are medications for the inner diseases which when treated would lead to lessening the tinnitus.

The injection is through usage of a syringe and a small gauge needle.
The microcatheter is surgically implanted underneath the eardrum.

The Microwick is a small tube to be used like the microcatheter.
The difference is the latter would allow self medication.
There are also medications given to patients who experience inner ear tinnitus as caused by other inner ear diseases.
People who have the Meniere's disease apply an aminoglycoside antibiotic called gentamicin.
This medication is directly placed in the inner ear to wipe out the vestibular function and cure vertigo.
Usage of corticosteroids is recommended for those who have sensorineural hearing loss, Meniere's syndrome and AIED.
When these steroids are applied directly to the inner ear, tinnitus could be lessened.
Perhaps one of the most warranted medication combinations is through lidocaine and dexamethasone, which could be applied through inner ear perfusion.
One study revealed that 83% of their patients who experienced ear fullness and dizziness had felt some relief through the drug combination.
Another study showed that when the same drug combination, hyaluron perfusion and intravenous Lidocaine relieved 76.
9% of the patients from tinnitus after three months of treatment.
After a year of the same treatment, 83.
3% benefited.
You should also take note of excessive glutamate intake.
This plays a major role in increased production of tinnitus.
Currently, there are three drugs under Henry Ford Health System medical evaluation that are specifically for curing tinnitus.
These are memantine, caroverine and magnesium.
Memantine has glutamate antagonists which could treat inner ear disorders causing tinnitus.
Caroverine has been studied to confine glutamate receptors from high activity.
Magnesium has been studied and had shown to prevent noise-induced hearing loss.
The magnesium has been seen to significantly decrease inner ear fluid when the patients were exposed to intense noise.
