DDA Housing Scheme 2014 - Important Details You Need to Know

The much awaited 2014 housing scheme by Delhi Development Authority has been announced and the application forms will be available from September 1. The detailed brochure and application forms will be available at 13 designate banks across India. The major empanelled banks include Axis, HDFC, Punjab National Bank, ICICI, SBI, Kotak Mahindra and IDBI. The cost of the application form and brochure will be Rs. 150. The forms will not be available at DDA headquarter Vikas Sadan. The brochure and application forms can also be downloaded from the DDA website but applicants will have to pay Rs. 150 separately at the time of submitting the form.

Offering in Numbers
The authority is offering a total of 25,034 flats under the scheme making it the largest housing offering ever by DDA. Out of the total there will be 22,627 one bedroom and one drawing room flats for the Lower Income Group of the society while 700 flats are being offered to the economically weaker section (EWS) of the society. There are 1700 flats of 2BHK and 3BHK for the MIG and HIG categories. DDA has included 811 flats from the 2010 scheme which were left unsold/vacant due to several reasons. Out of the total, 896 flats are newly constructed after 2010. DDA has about 15000 flats in ready to move condition while a major chunk will be ready the end of this year and finally about 1000 flats will be ready by March 2015.

Cost and Application Fee
The cost of flats has been kept between Rs 14.3 Lakh to Rs 1.2 Crore for LIG, MIG and HIG. The cost of 700 EWS flats has been kept between 5.87 Lakh to 9.9 Lakh. The cheapest flat under the scheme are Janta flats at Rs 5.4 Lakh in Raghubir Nagar. The registration amount for the LIG, MIG and EWS flats would be Rs. 1 Lakh which is to be deposited along with the submission of application forms. The registration cost has been reduced by Rs. 50 thousands compared to earlier DDA schemes.

Area and Location
The plinth area of EWS and Janta flats is kept between 18.85 - 40 square meters, the lowest in all. The area for 1BHK LIG flats is between 31.34-73.99 Sq mt while 2BHk and 3BHK flats will have a plinth area of 33.29 - 126.17 and 84.82 - 156.61 square meters respectively. Most of the flats in the scheme are located in different sectors of Narela (9,887), Rohini (11,509) and Dwarka (2,392). The rest of the flats are being offered in Mukherjee Nagar, Kalyan Vihar, Sirsapur, Shivaji Marg, Jasola, Shalimar Bagh, Motia Khan, Kalkaji, Kharoli, Kondli, Mansarovar Park, Jhilmil, Jahangirpuri, Loni Road, Loknayak Puram, Paschim Vihar, Jfrabad, Dilshad Garden, Mangolpuri, Tigri, Madangir, Raghubir Nagar, Paschim Puri and Todapur.

Who can apply, who can not
Delhi Development Authority earlier proposed to reserve 80% of the flats for the people of Delhi but the proposal was scrapped and now every citizen of India with an age of over 18 years can apply for the scheme. The applicants should not have any property in his/her or any family member name in Delhi. The joint property owners in Delhi can also not apply for the scheme. Both husband and wife can apply for the flat scheme but only one can keep the flat if both are allotted in draw. One person can submit only one application form. DDA has also allowed everyone to apply for the 1 bedroom LIG flats regardless of their income.
