God-honoring Public Policies in a Nation

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any most people. PROVERBS 14: 34 Righteousness alone can exalt [America] as a nation. Reader! Whoever thou art work, remember this; and with thy sphere practice virtue thyself and encourage that in others.
I have one great political idea.... It is in product, "Righteousness exalteth a nation; sin is a reproach to help any people" [Proverbs 16: 34].... This constitutes my own politics - the poor and positive of my own politics, and the entire of my politics.

In the event the time ever comes once we shall go to pieces, it will... [be] from losing sight to the fact that "Righteousness exalteth a nation, but that sin can be a reproach to any people" [Proverbs 16: 34].... Unless we hold firmly to the great principles of righteousness [enunciated inside Declaration of Independence, inside Golden Rule, in that Ten Commandments, in the Sermon to the Mount], [America, ] if it is constantly on the exist, will be a curse and not a blessing.

Because that Scripture unequivocally declares which "Righteousness exalts a nation, " then the conditions the Bible identifies since directly impacting national righteousness should be foremost in Biblical voters' minds as they simply select a President. Dozens of Bible passages affirm that a nation's righteousness is determined by its public policies together with how well they conform to God's standards; only God-honoring policies that end up in God-honoring actions can exalt some sort of nation.

How can a nation achieve God-honoring plans? William Paterson, a signer of the Constitution and a Oughout. S. Supreme Court Justice, answered that question by citing Proverbs 29: two, 11 which says: When the righteous rule, the most people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan. God-honoring public policies in a nation are as a result of God-honoring public officials enacting people policies. Therefore, if righteousness (i. e., God-honoring policy) may be to exalt a nation, then a nation must have commanders like Daniel, Nehemiah, Jesse, or Moses rather as compared to Ahab, Jezebel, Manasseh, and Jeroboam.

In America, the only way there will be God-honoring public officials is if God-honoring citizens elect them. As Founding Mother Noah Webster reminded people in his day:

This Scriptures teach.... that rulers should be men who rule in the fear of God, able men, such as fear God, men of truth of the matter, hating covetousness.... It is always to the neglect of that rule of conduct in our citizens that we ought to ascribe the multiplied scammers, breaches of trust, peculations, together with embezzlements of public property which astonish even by ouselves.
Therefore, the first and foremost consideration in choosing a President - is whether that individual will advance policies maintaining Biblical standards of righteousness together with oppose policies that inspire what the Bible becomes as sin or unrighteous behavior. For this reason, issues involving Biblical righteousness - my partner and i. e., Biblical rights and wrongs - must always take precedence over economic, environmental, health care, electricity, and other issues. David Barton [http://davidbarton.org] tell us that these other issues are usually essential, but recall from Matthew 6 that Jesus told His disciples that if they would make the quest for righteousness their primary main focus, then everything else may be provided. However, if economic issues end up being the primary focus for voters, the nation usually ultimately ends up attaining neither the commercial prosperity voters desired not the national righteousness that should have been their primary concern from the outset.
