Our childhood days are the best ones to reminisce later on in life. The carefree bliss which we enjoyed cannot be gotten back, and the maximum we can do is visit those places where we played for hours without getting tired. Childhood gives us a sweet remembrance in the form of lost pencils, incomplete homework and broken tooth while playing! Wait, did we hear broken tooth? Well, broken tooth are an integral part of our growing up days. They're so important in fact, that we even had stories of the ‘tooth fairy' around them!

Though, breaking teeth was really common part of our growing up days, it sometimes happened late at night and led to severe distress. Way back in the early 2000s and the 90s, there really wasn't any place to go. Probably our mom and grandma made us apply clove oil to ease tooth ache and apply some traditional herbs but at times, the problem would aggravate till morning. Thanks to developments in the field of medical sciences, today there are provisions to visit emergency dental clinics even in the midst of the night. Though they charge slightly higher as compared to the usual dental clinics, it's worth it to visit them when it's an emergency.

Sleep Dentistry

There are a lot of other things for which you might need to visit an emergency clinic. For adults, the pain that erupts when we get a wisdom tooth can be unbearable. Since there's no place for a wisdom tooth, it generally tries to occupy the space of its immediate neighboring teeth and as a result, causes immense discomfort and pain for a few days. Even while chewing food, it can lead to irritation and soreness. Wisdom teeth removals are a task undertaken by emergency dentists and can help one ease the pain which has erupted.

These days, painless treatments are available as opposed to the times when local anesthesia was administered for everything right from a root canal to teeth removal. Today, more sophisticated compounds are used to numb your area or better, make you sleep so that you don't realize the treatment you're undergoing. Known as sleep dentistry, this procedure employs the use of anesthesia, nitrous oxide and related chemicals to get you in a state of deep sleep. Since reportedly 70% of patients suffer from anxiety breakdown before a dental treatment on account of the expected pain, it's good to opt for sleep dentistry.

Emergency dentists also pay heed to a variety of other problems. At times, our gums start bleeding or get sore on consuming excessively hot or cold drinks. Sensitive gums can cause a lot of pain and render a person unable to eat his/her favorite food items. Even such cases are treated well.
