United States Immigration Identification Types
- This document, the "green card," has a photo ID, date of birth, alien registration number and the date the alien became a lawful permanent resident. The expiration date is also on the card.
- This is the second type of card. It has a photo ID and an expiration date. It can be renewed, depending on the alien's status. To qualify for one, the alien has to fit into one of the strict categories for which a person can be qualified.
- The United States stamps visas into passports. The photo ID in the passport plus the visa would establish the person's immigration status.
- These are cards stapled into an alien's passport. They give the date to which the alien is authorized to stay and in which status.
- When an alien becomes a citizen of the United States, he will receive a certificate of naturalization. This certificate contains a photo ID and is the document that proves the person is a U.S. citizen.
