How to Grout Bricks
- 1). Mix approximately 1/2 gallon of grout in a bucket, combining the grout powder and water in the ratio of grout powder to water that’s called for on the packaging of grout. Stir well with a wooden spoon, getting it to the consistency of cake frosting.
- 2). Let the mixed grout sit in the bucket for 10 minutes. Stir it again.
- 3). Open the backside of the grout bag, and scoop the grout into it with the wooden spoon. Seal the bag.
- 4). Position the tip of the grout bag at one end of the first line in the bricks. Compress the bag with both hands until grout is expelled into the line.
- 5). Begin pulling the bag along the line, slowly filling it with the grout. Go all the way to the end of the line.
- 6). Run the curved top of the wooden spoon along the line and over the grout to smooth it out and slightly indent it.
- 7). Repeat this procedure for each of the lines in the brick. If you run out of grout in the bag, stop and mix a new batch. Let it set for 24 hours.
