    Army

    • Create an Army costume out of camouflage clothing. If camouflage clothing is not available, create your own. Use a tan- or green-colored sweat suit as the base for the costume. Use brown and green fabric paint to make a camouflage pattern on both the top and bottom of the sweat suit. Use earth-toned paint to create a camouflage pattern on an old bicycle helmet. Put earth-toned face paint on the face in a camouflage pattern.

    Navy

    • Make a United States Navy costume out of a white T-shirt and other materials. Cut a "V" neck into a white T-shirt. Cut a square collar from another T-shirt and sew it onto the shirt. Use blue ribbon to create a trim. Wear white pants and black dress shoes. Make a hat by cutting a rectangle out of white poster board. Make a circular brim out of the poster board and staple it closed around a white beanie to complete the costume.

    Air Force

    • Use an olive-green snowsuit or overalls as the base for an Air Force costume. Sew a United States flag patch onto the left arm of the suit and an Air Force patch onto the left breast area. Decorate a white bicycle or motorcycle helmet with gold stars, a United States flag or the words "Air Force." Wear black boots to complete the outfit.

    Marines

    • Use iron-on transfer paper to write the word "Marines" onto the front of a white T-shirt. Couple the shirt with a pair of camouflage pants to create a Marines costume. Wear Army boots and a Ranger-style hat with the outfit.

    Other Military Costumes

    • Consider other military costumes including outfits from a specific time period, such as World War II, or another military position, such as a nurse's outfit. Also, consider a Coast Guard costume or a military costume from another country.
