    • 1). Dig up the area around the head to so that the head and irrigation line below the head is exposed. Be very careful when digging to ensure that you do not damage the irrigation line.

    • 2). Turn the entire head assembly counterclockwise to remove it from the irrigation line. Be careful not to get any dirt into the irrigation line when the head is removed.

    • 3). Wrap the threading of the irrigation line clockwise with plumber's tape.

    • 4). Thread the new spray head onto the irrigation line, turning it clockwise until tight.

    • 5). Turn on the sprinkler system, then adjust the twist the nozzle on the new sprinkler head to adjust until the sprinkler performs as desired. Also, check the bottom of the head for leaks and tighten as needed.

    • 6). Refill the hole that was created with dirt to bury the new sprinkler head.
