Akshay Kumar in Gujarat State for Khel Mahakumbh 2011
Now, the Akshay Kumar will be seen rooting for the Gujarat State athletes at Khel Mahakumbh (KMK) 2011 starting from November 28.
He has also been invited for the sports extravaganza. He has a long-standing association with sports like the martial arts for a long time.
As per Latest Bollywood Interviews of Gujarat State Sports Youth and Cultural Affairs Department Secretary Bhagyesh Jha, he said that, We have invited Akshay Kumar after he was seen as brand ambassador at the Special Olympics.
Differently-able sports persons from Gujarat have also made significant achievements at the recently concluded Special Olympics.
Further, we will also have a separate category for differently-able athletes during this year's KMK, apart from the other categories.
If Akshay Kumar accepts the invitation, his name would be part of a long list of Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Anupam Kher, and Paresh Rawal, who have met chief minister Narendra Modi.
He would be meeting Modi at Vadodara at the inaugural function of the Khel Mahakumbh. The baton relay of KMK 2011 will start from the Town Hall at Gandhinagar on November 11 at 11:11 am by the state sports, youth and cultural affairs minister Fakirbhai Vaghela. He is proud to be a Desi Boy well in real life too.
As per Akshay Kumar Interviews, he said that, "I am proud to be desi. I'm a desi boy from Delhi and I'm very proud of whom I am and I am proud of my roots. My fans love me for being humble and hard working. They love me for speaking to them in their language; they connect with me because I remind them of their roots."
