  The town of Longmont, located north of Denver, Colorado and only 15 miles from Boulder, was voted one of the top 100 places to live by Money Magazine in 2008, and was also a winner of the prestigious All-America City Award. Named for Longs Peak, the prominent mountain just outside the city, the population was around 84,000 as of 2009. Tourists to the area can enjoy the Dougherty Museum, which houses more than 150 antique cars, dating back to 1902. Other activities of interest are its many art shows, outdoor concerts, county fairs, farmers markets, miles of trails and lakes and its close proximity to the Rocky Mountain National Park.
