• Wedding centerpieces can become a large expense, especially if they will include flowers or if your wedding will be large. Rather than paying someone to create your wedding centerpieces for you, consider creating them yourself with simple candle decor. Purchase inexpensive candle holders and place a large pillar candle in the center surrounded by several small tea light candles. Add some color by placing colored rocks at the base of the pillar candle.
  Or consider using something completely different such as pumpkins for a fall-themed wedding, a bowl of seashells for a beach-themed wedding, or a small beta fish swimming in his own little bowl.
  
  

Flowers

• The best way to save money on your wedding flowers is to purchase silk flowers and make all of your floral arrangements yourself. This would include table centerpieces (unless you choose to use something else), arrangements for the other tables at the reception such as the gift table, food tables and head table. You may also want arrangements for your ceremony's altar, your bouquets or even the end of each chair or pew row. When choosing silk flowers, make sure to look carefully for flowers that look the most real but stay within your budget.
  For the wedding altar decor, and even around the reception site, you place purchase potted plants. Then you can later use them in your home or plant them in the yard.

• Candles, candle holders and silk flowers can often be purchased at places like a dollar store, a mass merchandiser or a bulk store. If you purchase something online, be sure to factor shipping into your costs. Keep in mind that finding the best deals on your decor might take some time.
