Meditation is one of the most beneficial abilities one must learn if he aims to have stress free living.
Meditation allows us to eliminate negative thoughts so that we can have a more healthy life.
Meditation will allow us to take control of our thoughts and what we let our mind think of.
After mastering the art of meditating, we will be able to replace negative thoughts with positive ones.
Therefore we can be relieved rather than bothered, relaxed rather than worried, and most importantly happy, rather than depressed.
Meditation is the ability of the mind to eliminate worries to relieve stress.
It may sound too profound, but there simple steps in learning easy meditation techniques.
Do a simple breathing meditation In meditation, breathing is important.
This will start to make you take control of your thoughts.
To do this, find a quiet place.
A quiet area is the main necessity in starting meditation.
It would be really hard to concentrate if there are sounds and noise around you.
After finding a good location, find a comfortable position.
Cross sitting position is what most people use.
It actually does not matter what sitting position you are in, as long as you are comfortable and your back is straight.
Maintain a straight back to avoid getting sleepy.
Breathing meditation is done by having our eyes closed as we concentrate on breathing through the nostrils.
As we continue to do this, thoughts may enter our mind, and it would be really hard to avoid it.
Every time thoughts enter your mind, return to your concentration on breathing.
Do this every time until you can control your concentration on breathing.
The purpose of this is to actually make you learn to take control of what you think.
Have a conscious knowledge of your worries While in a state of breathing meditation, keep track of what enters your mind.
Do not concentrate on anything that enters your mind.
Just allow several thoughts to randomly cross your mind.
The purpose of this is to give you awareness of what you actually think of.
This may include what bothers you, what you are anticipating to happen, what you are expecting to do, and all other things that worry or occupy your mind.
Learn how to be in a mental state called hypnotic state The mental state called hypnotic state is the border line of sleeping and dreaming.
To do this, lie down at your back and hold one arm up.
The purpose of this step is still to make you aware of what your thoughts are.
This step will help you in your thoughts awareness, and since your one arm is held up, it would fall down to wake you up in case you doze off.
Say your thoughts out loud The best way to eliminate worries is to acknowledge them.
As you master the first steps in meditating, proceed to taking it to the next level.
In this step what you should do is, every time a thought enters your mind, you say it out loud.
As often as you do this, you will soon realize that every time you acknowledge your worries, it goes away from your mind.
Repeat the steps To master the art of meditation, you must undergo continuous practice.
Repeat each step to be able to master the whole procedure of meditation.
Another important thing is that, you do not proceed to the next step without having to master the previous steps.
Meditation is effective in relieving our minds from stress.
What are needed are concentration, focus, and determination.
