Need Help Falling Asleep? Try These Things

103 13
Just a few short weeks ago, I dealt with a troubling experience.
I was unable to fall asleep at night.
Having a job that requires me to get up early in the mornings, this was far from ideal for me and I had a really hard time getting through the day.
You'd think that I would simply fall asleep early the next night if I was exhausted during the day.
After all, that's how the body should typically work, right? Not exactly in my case.
While I was definitely exhausted, it was almost as if I'd get a second wind at night and I'd be once again unable to fall asleep when I got into bed.
It'd take me hours before I finally got to sleep.
I'd feel worse each day as a result.
Finally, I decided to take a few measures to ensure that I fell asleep more easily.
I tried a number of things that didn't work before I finally figured out a few ways that definitely help.
Here are some tips for falling asleep that have helped me when in a pinch.
Try these out and you should be in much better shape.
First of all, I know that the whole warm glass of milk thing sounds silly, but it actually works.
I don't know what it is, but it relaxes me and I suppose the lactic acid may play a role in inducing sleep.
The second piece of advice is to stop thinking about falling asleep while in bed.
If you do that, you'll never fall asleep.
I've been guilty of this and it's extremely aggravating.
Avoid doing this at all costs.
Lastly, you'll want to only spend time in your bed for the sake of sleep.
If your body and mind come to associate your bed with other things, it becomes more difficult to fall asleep from there.
