Ideas for a Country Market for a Church Bazzar

    Atmosphere

    • Create an atmosphere that channels the vibes of the church. Have crosses made out of flowers or leaves at the entrance, along with statues of Jesus, Mary and/or the saint for whom the church is named. Members could decorate different stands with religious-themed items. Furthermore, the whole market could be themed toward the season. For example, in the fall hang up some scarecrows and scatter colored leaves along. Plant bright flowers in the spring.

    Advertising

    • Advertise that you'll be having a country market at your church bazaar. Hang up posters around the neighborhood or distribute buttons that tell people the date and time of the bazaar. Absolutely put a notice in the church bulletin with the details for both the bazaar and the country market. Also make business cards and ask local stores and libraries if you could leave them on the front counter.

    Accompanying Items

    • Sell items that go along with the country market theme so that visitors can get all of their shopping done in one spot. For example, if you are selling seeds so that guests can grow their own country fruits and vegetables, set up a stand with gardening supplies next to it. Maybe you are selling seasonal items perfect for Christmas or Easter dinner. In that case, have a display of decorations or holiday plants adjacent to the country market.

    Entertainment

    • Channel the vibe of a large-scale country market by incorporating entertainment into your event. The youth group might perform in a talent show, or a local band could play in the evening. You could host a karaoke or Bingo event. Another option is to set up carnival games so that guests can take a break from shopping to play some games and win prizes. Serve and/or sell food and drinks.
