Proper Way to Load Silverware in the Dishwasher
- 1). Rinse off loose food and gunk from the silverware. If food is caked onto the silverware, use a sponge to remove it.
- 2). Load knives and other sharp objects into the dishwasher with the pointy side down. This prevents you from poking yourself when unloading the dishes.
- 3). Alternate putting forks and spoons in with the handle-side up and the handle-side down. This prevents the utensils from nesting together, which can result in them not getting clean.
- 4). Leave space between your silverware. Don't overcrowd the silverware basket. Instead, spread the silverware out to ensure there is space for the water to flow through each piece.
