Are You Looking to Start a Journey Into Weight Loss and Aren’T Sure Where to Start?
Are you loOKing to start a journey into weight loss and aren't sure where to start? Everybody has been there at some point. There are so many fads, programs, and supplements that if you tried to process what they do and how they affect your body, your head would probably explode. I was there once too, and through many years of trial and error, I was able to find what works for me. That means that what works for me may not work for you or a lot of other people. Over my trials and tribulations I noted what worked for me, and have been able to compile a good size list of tips that can work for anybody. It's a numbers game just like anything else. Out of all of the tips I have, not all of them will work for you and that's OK too. It's a matter of finding the ones that will help you get over the hump of getting started. The biggest tip that has worked for me is breaking your end goal into smaller goals. If you want to lose one-hundred pounds, don't loOK at it that way. Instead, say that €I want to lose ten pounds in two weeks. That goal is much easier on the psyche than loOKing at losing ten times that amount in who knows how long. After that goal is met, maybe raise the bar slightly to fifteen pounds over the next month. If you make that goal, you've lost twenty-five pounds in only six weeks! You're a quarter of the way there already. There's the saying, €How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.€ I really don't know who is eating elephants, but you get the point. Here are a few more tips that you may find useful to help you get started, or even maintain your goals.
Read success stories about losing weight. This was a great one for me. When I saw what these people accomplished, I was amazed. My goals were way less than theirs too, so it made mine seem that much more attainable.
Don't be afraid of failing. When you first start out you are going to be absolutely pathetic in whatever routine you decide on and that's OK! The first time I did pull-ups it was sorriest bit of exercise ever done. After a fairly short time though, I went from only being able to do two or three to knocking out twenty with no problem.
Be patient! This is the biggest reason why people fail. They want the results immediately, but don't want to put in the effort. Don't be discouraged at first if you actually gain a little weight too. Your muscles will be in shock from exercising and they will retain water to help aid in the healing process. This will go away in a week or so. Setting small goals will help you to be more patient and not expect huge leaps and bounds of progress right away.
Whatever you end up doing, keep at it for at least one month. You will see results, and if you don't you need to be honest with yourself if you're doing absolutely everything you should be. You can't blame a program for not working if you decide that you don't need to the diet part of. Stick with it, be disciplined and get your willpower in check! You can do it!
