Do Only One Thing at Once
So how do you persist and achieve your goal of becoming financially independent? Here are my main tips to see you through the course.
Reject the employee mentality - This means that you are going to have to accept that what was previously your 'downtime' is no longer that.
You have to realize you have 24 hours in a day and 8 of those will be taken up by your day job, probably 10, depending on your commute time.
Sleep time - How much sleep time do you really need? This is an important decision because you need to factor this into your 24 hours.
Lets assume you need 6 hours; this leaves you with about 8 hours.
Next there is Dinner and some time with the family so that leaves 6 -7 hours.
Prioritize - So at best you have 6 hours because of getting up and getting ready for work and then getting ready for bed.
So did you imagine you would have at best 6 hours each week day for all your network business tasks? Do Only One Thing Thing At Once - The real trick to prioritization is to concentrate your attention by doing a task 'once only', whenever possible.
Break your available time up into 1 hour segments in the evening, similarly on Saturday on Sunday.
If you are really serious about achieving your financial goals then several prior week-end activities will have to be shelved.
When you are engaged in an activity ask yourself a simple question, is this activity moving me closer to my financial goals? If not then de-prioritize it or stop it until your financial goal is achieved.
Short term loss vs.
long term gain - You have to realize the game is one of short term loss vs.
long term gain.
After a while you will be surprised how much time can be freed up by asking the above simple question.
The important thing is that you have a clear financial goal.
Then you can use visualization techniques to help you make it feel real and to keep you on track.
Strictly allocate the blocks of time and stick to the tasks in that block - Don't be distracted and when the hour is up move on to the next allocated task.
Multi-tasking will not help, that is the same as the difference between a shotgun versus a spear.
The shotgun will hit it's target and do some damage.
Whereas the spear tip will cut through the target far better because it is focused energy on a single point.
If you keep using focused energy on your tasks you will complete them much quicker in the long run.
It's the difference between appearing busy and being effective.
Once you have achieved your financial goals you will be in a position to have much more free time.
This is because you will have adopted a disciplined approach to doing your business tasks.
In addition you will have the finances to delegate some of the tasks you did yourself in the past to someone else, possibly a Virtual Personal Assistant.
