Decorations for Wedding Entrances
- Greet your wedding guests with a decorative arch. This can be used both indoors and outdoors. The arch can be made of metal, plastic or any type of wood. Wrap the arch in greenery, flowers, fabric or lights. You can also hang beading, small mirrors, crystals or seashells from the top of the arch. A bamboo arbor is a type of arch that can be used for an outdoor wedding; this works well for a beach wedding. An inexpensive option is to create a balloon arch in the color of your choice.
- Adorn your wedding entrance with greenery or floral arrangements. Place neatly trimmed topiaries in decorative pots and place these on either side of the doors to the entrance, inside or outside. These can also be placed on tables throughout the entranceway. Tie a pretty ribbon around the pots for added decoration. Small, potted trees can be used as well. Use floral arrangements that suit your wedding theme or match the colors of the flowers worn by the wedding party. Place flowers in vases on tables, such as the guest book table.
- Use a variety of candles to light up the entrance to your wedding ceremony or reception while creating a beautiful sight for your guests to gaze at. Place sconces on the walls or set columns of various sizes with large, wide-based candles on the floor. You can also have a designated table covered with an arrangement of candles. Use tea lights, pillar candles or even flameless candles in different sizes, heights and colors. Add mirrored tiles underneath to further illuminate the sight.
- Give your wedding guests a grand entrance to walk down when arriving at your wedding ceremony or reception by creating a festive aisle indoors or outdoors. This can be a Hollywood-style red carpet with "velvet ropes" on either side. You can also scatter real or silk rose petals at your entrance. Light up the entrance with paper bags filled with flameless candles on either side of the aisle. An aisle runner can be used in either a disposable paper material or cloth. You can even personalize your aisle with your initials.
