Hold a trivia contest during lunchtime at your school. Since FCCLA week is held during February, you can incorporate Black History Month and Valentine's Day trivia. Or hold an art contest to see who can create the best tribute to FCCLA. Tell students to form groups of three and use whatever medium they wish to create their tribute. You could also hold a talent competition after school or during the last two periods of school. Award gift cards to local restaurants to the winners.

    Outings and Experiences

Set up job shadowing experiences for every FCCLA member. Have the school's FCCLA officers visit the local radio station and speak on-air about the purpose of FCCLA week to raise awareness. Tour a local elementary school and speak to the students about the importance of family, career and community. Write a joint letter to the mayor of your city asking her to declare FCCLA week on the dates chosen by the National FCCLA.

    Special Events

Hold a Mr. and Miss FCCLA Pageant. Include FCCLA chapters from neighboring towns and make it into a fundraiser by selling volunteer space and tickets to the event. You could also hold a Teacher or Administration Appreciation banquet one evening during the week. Ask local restaurants to donate food then have an awards presentation to honor supportive teachers or administrators. You could also solicit merchandise donations from local vendors and hold a silent auction and reception for the community on Friday evening.

    Volunteerism

Spend a few weeks researching your community's needs then create a project calendar for the week. Sponsor a clothing and food donation drive or host a community cleanup. Serve in a soup kitchen on the weekend or help sort donations at a food bank. Hold a Valentine's Day card drive for local shut-ins or nursing home residents. You could also choose a needy family and take them food and clothes shopping, or get a list from local churches of senior citizens with limited mobility and spend the weekend running errands or just spending time with them.
