How to Design a Check Book Cover
- 1). Purchase a clear plastic checkbook cover. These plastic covers are the same style as calendar covers, and often cost one dollar or less.
- 2). Gather construction paper, decorative scrapbooking paper, pencil, glue, scissors and any other embellishments or pictures that will be part of the design, such as stickers or pre-made paper decorations.
- 3). Remove the calendar or checkbook from the plastic cover. Place it flat on a piece of construction paper and use the pencil to trace the outline of the case. Cut out the rectangle using scissors.
- 4). Fold the rectangle in half. Be very precise when lining up the sides, so it will fit properly into the plastic case.
- 5). Decide which side of the fold will be the front of the checkbook and which side will be the back. Decorate each side with pictures, decorative paper, pre-made paper items and stickers. The design choice is personal. While some enjoy a simple design, others enjoy an embellished design.
- 6). Press the cover flat, so none of the items stand out. Use a couple of books, if required, to create the pressure.
- 7). Allow the construction paper with embellishments and designs to dry, if using glue.
- 8). Insert the new checkbook design cover into the plastic check book cover. Insert the cardboard back end of the checkbook into the plastic cover.
