How to Cook Breakfast Chops in a Frying Pan With Olive Oil and Pepper
- 1). Heat 3 tbsp. olive oil in the frying pan over medium-high heat until the oil begins to shimmer.
- 2). Liberally sprinkle cracked black pepper on both sides of the pork chop.
- 3). Dredge the chop in the flour to lightly coat to encourage browning of the meat. Shake off the excess flour coating.
- 4). Lay the flour-dusted pork chop in the skillet.
- 5). Cook the chop for three minutes or until the bottom browns.
- 6). Turn over the pork chop with a spatula and cook the chop for two to three minutes.
- 7). Insert a meat thermometer into the side of the pork chop with the probe in the middle of the meat, but not touching the bone. Remove the pork chop from the pan when the meat thermometer reads 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 8). Rest the pork chop for five to 10 minutes before serving with other breakfast foods like eggs, biscuits and gravy.
