    Reindeer Ornaments

    • Make a whimsical ornament with a brown handprint pressed onto green or red construction paper. After the paint dries, the child can cut out the handprint, leaving a construction paper border approximately 1/4 inch wide. With the fingers of your handprint facing up to make the antlers, glue wiggly eyes onto the palm of the print. Add a red pom pom for the nose. Glue a ribbon loop to the back of the longest finger to hang the ornament.

    Paper-Plate Reindeer

    • Any grandparent would love this special craft. The child should put brown paint on the palm of her hand and fingers and press the handprint onto a paper plate with the fingers pointed down to make the reindeer's legs and the thumb stretched away from the fingers to make the head. When the paint dries, add black paint to make the hooves and eyes and red paint to make the nose. With a very thin-tipped paintbrush or markers, make the antlers. Use a hole punch at the top of the plate to make a single hole. Loop a ribbon through the hole to hang the ornament.

    Craft-Foam Reindeer

    • Trace the child's handprint onto brown craft foam and cut it out. Attach thumbnail-shaped pieces of tan craft foam to each finger of the handprint to make the hooves. Use red glitter glue for the collar and black glitter glue for the eyes. Add dots of gold glitter glue on the collar to make the reindeer's bells. Make antlers out of chenille craft sticks and attach with hot glue. The tail can be made with the scraps from the brown craft foam.

    Hand and Footprint Reindeer

    • For this craft, you will need two handprints and one footprint cut out of brown construction paper. Glue the two handprints with palms facing each other to form the antlers. Add the footprint with the wide end between the two antlers and the thinner end extending down to form the nose. Add a red or black pom pom for the nose and two wiggly eyes. Make whiskers out of thin strips of black craft foam or chenille craft sticks and attach to either side of the nose.
