Pretty much everyone knows about the standard abs exercises: crunches, leg lifts, situps, and so on.
But maybe everyone is missing something important.
What if I told you that there are some awesome exercises that will help you build killer abs, but that aren't direct abs exercises at all.
These are high-intensity exercises that pump up your metabolism and burn the fat right off your abs.
Would you be interested? Renegade Dumbbell Row The first of these exercises is the Renegade Dumbbell Row.
You do these by holding a dumbbell in each hand, then assuming the standard pushup position.
Now, instead of doing a normal pushup, lift one one of the dumbbells in a rowing motion up to your chest.
You'll need to stabilize your body with the other arm, your legs, and your entire core (including of course, your abs).
Lower the dumbbell to the floor, then row the other dumbbell to your chest, again stabilizing yourself with your legs and the arm that is still down.
That's one repetition.
Mountain Climbers This is another exercise that starts off looking like a pushup, but becomes a very different animal indeed.
Get into pushup position, then, without moving the rest of your body, pull one knee toward your chest and slide that foot forward as if you were climbing a mountain.
Return your leg to the starting position, then repeat the motion with the other leg.
That's one repetition.
Try Them Yourself.
I Dare You
Now neither of these exercises may seem like they'll do much for your abs when you read about them, but they do.
The best way to prove it to yourself is of course to try them yourself.
Add one or two sets of ten for each of these exercises into your next workout, and see how your abs feel afterward.
You'll definitely feel it in your abs.
