India is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world and is home to some of the most exotic and varied climatic conditions which make the Indian travel experience a unique and interesting one.
Winter has arrived in India and most of the Indian states will be under the influence of winter which makes the climate in most of the popular travel destinations much chilly and cold.
So if you are planning to make your trip to India this winter, then be aware about some of the best holiday winter destinations in India before planning your trip.
India is mainly divided into North, South, West and East India and all these regions experience different climatic conditions during winter.
For example in the northern part of India, the winter is usually extreme and you can even see snowfalls in the states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
The eastern states of India also experiences heavy winter season which will make it a popular tourist spot for those interested in winter travel vacations.
On the other hand the South and Western states of India experience a totally different climate during winter.
Most of the states in these regions do not experience extreme winters and only the hill stations present in these place only have some kind of cold climate during winter seasons.
Apart from the hill stations the climate in other areas will not be chilly and cold; rather you can experience a cool and enjoyable weather during the winter season.
So before preparing the final plan for your vacation trip to India this winter, identify which type of climate suits your health the most.
If you are pretty sure that your body can hold the climatic condition of a particular tourist destination in India during the winter, then make a self check whether you are actually interested in the tourist spots and travel activities present in those areas.
If the answer is yes, then you can easily book your trip to India and be ready for your flight.
I will not recommend much of the eastern travel destinations in India due to security issues, but there are still some places worth visiting and the most popular of them is the Darjeeling and Mussouri hill stations.
The winter seasons in northern part of India offers a chilly travel experience and for those interested in wandering out in the chilled weather and snowy mountains, then the north Indian states such as Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are highly recommended.
For those who would like to stay away from the snow, but really loves to travel and explore the culture of northern India, then they could make their trip to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jaisalmer etc.
During the winter seasons the travel destinations in the southern part of India experiences an entirely different atmosphere.
Those who would like to enjoy sunshine and sightseeing during the months of November to March, the south Indian travel places such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh etc will the best choice.
The beaches, palaces, wildlife wealth, and the hill stations all makes it a perfect honeymoon or vacation tour destinations in India.
Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Hampi, Munnar, Kovalam, Mysore etc are some place worth visiting in South India during the winter season.
Same is the case with Western States such as Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat which will not be experiencing extreme cold during the winter seasons.
The beaches of Goa and Mumbai will provide a perfect vacation tour place for you to spend with your friends or family, or even chill out with your friends.
There is also an abundant wealth of wildlife resource and forest which will make it a perfect time for those interested in wildlife.
Forts, Palaces, temples and ancient buildings also add more charm and color to your trip.
The above mentioned places are just few of the major travel destinations in India, and I have left a few besides and that do not diminishes their importance in the tourism map of India.
