    • 1). Remove the backing and glass from your picture frame. Lay the empty frame and some half-round molding side-by-side.

    • 2). Spray paint both items the same color. Pick a metallic or light color since the window will be darker. The frame should stand out. Allow the frame and molding to dry for about two hours.

    • 3). Measure the height and width of your picture frame. Cut one piece of molding matching each measurement, sawing with a small coping saw.

    • 4). Put the glass back in the frame. Hot glue the vertical molding piece down the center of the glass. Let it dry for 10 minutes.

    • 5). Cut the second piece of molding in half, sawing away just enough wood so you can fit each piece horizontally to either side of the vertical piece. Glue the horizontal pieces in place as well. Let the glue dry for 10 minutes.

    • 6). Flip the frame over and paint the back of the glass dark blue with a mini roller. Choose the darkest blue you can find -- it should be almost black. Let the paint dry for about 30 minutes.

    • 7). Draw a nighttime scene on top of the paint gently with chalk. Draw a moon and your favorite constellations.

    • 8). Scrape the paint off of the chalk drawings with a wooden craft stick. Let the paint cure for an additional two hours.

    • 9). Paint over the dark blue paint with a layer of white, iridescent paint. Let it dry for two hours. When you look at the window from the front, you should see a dark blue sky dotted with white celestial bodies.
