How to replace your vertical blinds cheap
Replacing vertical blinds is sometimes expensive especially if you ahev a very large window, such as a patio door.
Typically speaking, patio doors are very wide and long, this makes buying anew blind expensive as, you are usually looking at an eight foot width and a minium of 8 foot drop.
So how do you do it on the cheap and still get good quality and value for money?
Do you buy a cheap ready amde blind and hope it fits? Or do you have a custom amde one done? How about option 3, simply repalce the louvres/slats.
No need to repalce the head rail, weights or bobble chains, simply change the slats,
Here is what you will need to do, measure the existing drop of your current slats. You can do this is tow ways a recess measurement, this is from the top of the inside of the window / door frame to the floor. Or a hem to hem measurment, unclip one of the slats from the headrail and measure from one end to the other, do not make any allowances for the wieight pocket as this will be done during the manufacturing process.
Once you have decided upon your measurements, you next need to decide on which type of fabrics you want. Do you want a plain fabric, patterned or blackout.
Your fabric needs largely depend on how much privacy and budget you have, as plain fabrics tend to be the cheapest, while balcakou repalcement louvres tend to be the most expensive.
As the mane implies blackout fabric, when the window blinds are closed, will give you the greatest privacy and now you can get a wide variety of colours in these fabrics, from plain balcks to shocking pinks.
All that is left for you to do is order your repalcment vertical blind slats and then you can redo your windows on a budget. Why spen all that extra money on a new headrail ,weight and booble chains, when you can just buy the slats?
