How to Create Desktop Shortcuts for Google Maps
- 1). Open Maps.Google.com in your Web browser and configure the map to your preference. You can click "Get Directions" to display driving directions between two points, or simply enter a city and state into the top search bar for an area map.
- 2). Click "Link" at the top right of the graphical map.
- 3). Hold the "Ctrl" key and press "C" to copy the link.
- 4). Hold the "Windows" key and press "M" to minimize all windows.
- 5). Right-click an empty area of the desktop, point to "New" and select "Shortcut."
- 6). Hold the "Ctrl" key and press "V" to paste the link into the initial screen of the Create Shortcut window. Click "Next."
- 7). Type a title for your map and click "Finish" to place the shortcut to Google Maps on your Desktop.
