Sesame Street is a favorite in our household as it is in millions of others.
Still running after decades on public television this classic show was and is still working to educate your children while entertaining them with interesting puppet characters.
If the hullabaloo in past years over the Tickle Me Elmo dolls and other Sesame Street toys is any indication this show is extremely popular with today's kids.
You'll want a party menu that's just as popular and tasty too.
Cupcakes are the best treat for preschoolers especially if the party is held at school.
Use any brand of cake mix prepared to package directions for cupcakes.
One classic children's favorite is to use chocolate cookie Crum 'dirt' and candy gummy 'worms' placed in chocolate icing.
Other possibilities would be to make each of the sesame street puppets in icing on alternating cupcakes.
Green icing used with the star shape pastry bag point makes a convincing Kermit.
Red icing used with the tiny round point would do nicely to decorate Elmo.
Grover is blue and the Grouch is green.
Big bird is yellow.
Eyes can be chocolate chips and mouths can be fashioned from licorice.
Serve a slow cooker of sloppy Joes and a side of potatoes sticks if a home party allows enough time for a quick party meal.
Party punch of the guest of honor's favorite flavor should be served.
This party menu can satisfy your child's tummy, but only the Sesame Street show can satisfy his or her mind.
Be sure to have several episodes on hand for the guests at your party to sit down and watch.
Plenty of Sesame Street decorations will help to liven up your living area for the party and they also make for quick and easy clean up afterwards.
Have a great party!
