913 D2 Is An Easy To Hit Driver

Titleist is a brand I've always considered to be the choice of accomplished golfers and that’s maybe no surprise given their success on Tour with the best players in the world.

Titleist calls the 913 drivers the company's "most playable and forgiving." Unlike the RAZR Hawk Driver , whose differences included launch and spin characteristics, the Titleist 913D2 and 913D3 drivers are the same in those respects. At first glance the Titleist 913 D2 Driver doesn’t look drastically different from the 910, but in its first week on Tour in July around 50 per cent of Titleist staff players switched to the new driver.

The design of the 913 driver centres around creating more distance and less spin through more efficient weighting and an improved CG location. The 913 D2 features a new sole plate design with an all black finish and  the red and silver trim on the sole looks sharp. The D2 feels balanced in address and throughout the swing.   The removable weight allows you to control the weight of the club head.

If you hit it out of the middle then you may not notice much difference to 910. However for off-centre hits, Titleist have increased the speed of the face so that you get around 2mph more ball speed from toe hits and just over 1% for low on the heel. The D2 is very easy to play and favors a slight draw bias.  Generally the D2 is extremely forgiving and delivers a straight ball flight, a solid carry distance with a mid to high ball trajectory. The D2 is likely to prove the more popular of the two in terms of mass market appeal as its slightly deeper centre of gravity helps promote more of a draw than the 913 D3 Driver.

The Titleist 913 D2 offers a clean look and easy to hit driver.
